Combating the Dreaded Under Eye
Wrinkles
When it comes to skin care, there is nothing as
disheartening as under eye wrinkles. They will make you look tired and old before your time. If you add to them
bags or circles, you can find it positively impossible to look your best. There are a few simple tricks that help
you combat under eye wrinkles.
Why Do We Get Under Eye
Wrinkles
In order to treat under eye wrinkles, it is
important to understand what causes them. As you age, your skin will naturally grow thinner. As it grows thinner,
it is much easier for wrinkles to form. The skin under your eyes is the thinnest skin on your face, so it is only
natural for it to be one of the first places to show wrinkles as you age. Some wrinkles are caused by repetitive
motions, so the act of smiling, when it crinkles up your eyes can lead to laugh
lines.
How To Treat
Under Eye Wrinkles
There are several non surgical ways to treat under
eye wrinkles. One of the easiest things to do is to make sure the skin under your eyes is refreshed. If you are
drinking at least 8 hours of water a day and getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, you will notice a
difference in the quality of your skin; especially the skin under your eyes. Dehydrated skin dries out, making it
more prone to wrinkles. Hydrated skin plumps out, hiding fine lines.
If you aren’t getting enough sleep, chances are you
have puffy bags under your eyes or even dark circles. Both of these conditions serve to make under eye wrinkles
more noticeable.
Once you are sure you are hydrating your skin from
the inside and getting enough sleep, there are several other natural things you can do to approve the appearance of
your eyes. Take time each day to sooth your eyes with a cooling compress or cucumber slices. If you have a cold
cream that you like, store it in the refrigerator to give added comfort when you apply it to the skin under your
eyes. Tea bags, steeped in water and then cooled are also a great soothing compress to use at the end of a long
day.
Another way to combat under eye wrinkles is to use
over the counter eye creams. Choose a product that has good reviews and contains ingredients such as Retinol or
green tea.
